Our Parish Priests
Priesthood is a gift given by Christ to a few for the good of the many. The priests’ mission is to serve Christ, the teacher, priest and shepherd, by whose ministry the Church is built and grows into the People of God and is empowered for its mission. So it is that each priest is consecrated to preach the Gospel, shepherd God’s people, and celebrate the sacred liturgy, especially the Eucharist. He will initiate people into the church through Baptism, forgive sins in the name of Christ and the Church, comfort the sick with holy oil, all while offering prayers of praise, thanks and petition to God for the Church and the world.

THE PARISH PRIEST
Rev. Msgr. Mario Josefino F. Martinez belongs to the Frondosa clan of Roxas, Capiz and the Martinezes of Aklan. He was born on March 19, 1955 to Domingo Martinez and Concepcion Frondosa Martinez, the second of five children in the family. Capiz is a province known as the Seafood Capital of the Philippines.
He grew up in Marcelo Green Village and spent his elementary years at La Salle – Green Hills and St. Anthony Parochial School in Manila. He entered the St. Pius X Seminary in Roxas City for his high school studies. He pursued his tertiary education at the Adamson University, finishing the degree BS Biology. He was recognized among the Top 10 biologists of his batch. He then took up philosophy at St. Pius X Seminary and his Sacred Theology degree, at the UST Central Seminary, graduating cum laude. He then pursued and finished his licentiate and doctorate degrees in Canon Law at the Pontificà della Santa Croce in Rome, magna cum laude.
He was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Capiz on March 17, 1983 by his uncle, the Most Rev. Antonio Floro Frondosa. He was assigned Asst. Parish Priest of the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral in 1983; Asst. Parish Priest of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Roxas City, Capiz (1983); Resident Hospital Chaplain of the St. Anthony Hospital Roxas City, Capiz (1990-1991); Asst. Parish Priest, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish Roxas City, Capiz (1991-1993) and Asst. Parish Priest, Sta. Monica Parish Pan-ay, Capiz.
He was incardinated to the Diocese of Parañaque and was assigned to the following parishes: Parochial Vicar, Presentation of the Child Jesus Parish (2004-2005); Parish Priest, Resurrection of Our Lord Parish Parañaque City (2005-2011); Parish Priest, St. Joseph Parish (Bamboo Organ), Las Piñas (2011-2017) and Parish Priest , Our Lady of Unity Parish Parañaque City in 2017.
On December 7, 2023, Msgr Mario was appointed 14th parish priest of Mary, Mother of Good Counsel Parish.
